The Deck Construction Process

The old Joist had rotted out and the beam was sitting in water. To solve this a new beam and joist was put in place.

After everything was lined up, all the joist could be secured.

A quick awning was put in place to keep us and the wood dry. The frame is complete and ready for the ceder deck boards.

The cedar planking is installed using self tapping torx screws from Lowes. Cedar has a natural beauty of it's own. To preserve the cedar a pentrating oil was used. A easy to maintain solution.

Here is the completed deck, a much welcome addition of outdoor living space.
